Sumeet

Sumeet brings over 20 years of commercial, manufacturing and R&D experience with his tenure at SprintRay, Arkema, and General Electric.

Sumeet is currently the Vice President & GM for Materials at SprintRay. In this role, Sumeet is responsible for Global P&L management for SprintRay’s materials business leading growth through product innovation, and strategic customer and partner management.

Prior to joining SprintRay, Sumeet held the position of General Manager – Arkema 3D printing Worldwide. As an intrapreneur, Sumeet conceptualized and built the 3D printing business unit within Arkema and outpaced the market growth to establish Arkema as the market leader for 3D printing materials. He oversaw profit and loss, investments and acquisitions in a highly competitive marketplace. Prior to this role, Sumeet held the position of Manager, Product and Process Development at Sartomer, a business unit within Arkrema.

Sumeet began his career with General Electric Global Research Center, where he held various R&D positions of increasing responsibilities. In his last role at GE, he was R&D Manager for GE Global Research Functional Materials Group, where he strategically re-aligned lab technology focus by identifying new opportunities post sale of GE plastics and GE silicones.
In addition Sumeet has served on Board of Directors of various start-ups in the 3D printing market over the years. He current serves as an independent board director at Continuous Composites. As a board member, he advised management of Adpative3D on its sale to Desktop Metal.

Sumeet earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, India and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. In addition, Sumeet has done executive management courses from Cornell University and INSEAD.
