Kimberly Gibson

Kimberly is the Industrial Base Integration Director for America Makes, the U.S Dept of Defense funded public-private partnership for additive manufacturing technology and education. An evangelist for distributed manufacturing, Kimberly works to accelerate the adoption of 3D printing technology into the U.S. industrial base, by leveraging the assets of regions and their unique industry mix.

Before joining the America Makes team, Kimberly was Co-Founder and Chief Mischief Officer at IC3D, heading up marketing / business development and sharing her expertise in welding, technology strategy, public policy, and workforce development to advance the application of large format polymer 3D printing into industry and to allow access to manufacturing for all people.

Kimberly spends her free time on a charter school board for four high school dropout recovery programs in inner city Columbus incorporating career tech education into the curriculum and, through IC3D, initiated the first ever 3D printed Toys for Tots drive with the US. Marine Corps Reserve, delivering 150,000 3D printed toys to needy children in 2024.

In 2020, Kimberly was recognized as an Additive Manufacturing Ambassador by America Makes, for her leadership in bringing 3D printed personal protective equipment (PPE) forth during the first wave of COVID-19.
