Dr. Banu Gemici-Ozkan is senior market intelligence leader at GE Additive. In her current role, she oversees global market research and intelligence activities for GE Additive’s machine, powder, AddWorks Consulting and Print Services business to support strategic business investment decisions.
Her research interest in metal additive manufacturing started in 2016 during her time as a senior scientist at the GE Global Research Center where she developed an understanding of manufacturing ecosystems and disruptive advanced manufacturing technologies.
Prior to GE, Dr. Gemici-Ozkan held a technical program leadership role at Praxair Global Operations Excellence, where she oversaw development and implementation of productivity programs to save operational costs in Praxair’s dense Packaged Gas Business.
The models developed and implemented by her helped Praxair reduce a more than $5million operational cost gap over the course of three years.
Dr. Gemici-Ozkan has a Ph.D. in Operations Research and an M.S. in Management Science both from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Bilkent University. She lives in Niskayuna, NY with her husband and three children.
