Agustin

Dr. Agustin Diaz is part of the R&D Department at REM Surface Engineering, serving as the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Manager overseeing Research Chemists and Additive Manufacturing Scientists. Over the last eight years, he has worked on the optimization of post-process surface finishing of metal additive manufactured (AM) components using REM’s chemically accelerated finishing technologies. Agustin is a leading expert in the surface classification and post-processing of metal AM components and has expertise in new technology development for the surface finishing of metal components. He is the author of more than twenty technical papers and patents. Agustin has a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico and served for four years as a postdoctoral fellow at Texas A&M University. Dr. Diaz has authored 22 peer-reviewed research papers, has various patents, and has three book chapters on the surface texture finishing and characterization of AM components for the aerospace and space industry. In addition, he is the Co-Founder and Marketing Editor of the LatinX Can Podcast (LatinXCan.com), a bi-weekly podcast series that talks to LatinX professionals while they share their experiences about how they turned their professional dream into reality in USA.
